Splashorse is a power pop quartet spawned from the greater Bay Area region in Northern California. Cameron and Graham's passion for writing their own songs manifested itself at an early age and the two quickly became serious about starting a band. After only a few months of playing guitar Graham quickly developed into a steady lead, while Cameron put his efforts into learning the drums.  The desire to write songs eventually led Cameron into singing and playing guitar as well. Despite being far apart during highschool, Graham and Cameron continued to hone their songcraft. By their senior year in high school, Brian Atkinson was introduced and a band was started.

Originally the band was named Glervy but it went though many name changes including the Hum Babies, Preston Slaughter and The Turn-Ups. Eventually, Splashorse was coined. But quickly it was realized that Splashorse would need to add another guitarist to thicken it's sound.  It is Splashorse's great pleasure to introduce Craig Arant to the fold. Craig joined the band in the Summer of 2002, just in time for the Club Galia show, and his presence has been essential to solidifying the power pop drive behind Splashorse's songs.

Implicit in Splashorse's arsenal is a power pop sensibility fueled by interesting chord progressions, captivating melodies and harmonies and also a dynamic live performance. Splashorse's main influences are:  The Beatles, Weezer, Nirvana and many other artists such as Superdrag, Big Star, The Lemonheads, Guided By Voices, The Zombies, and the Rolling Stones.
